In summer, the Andermatt-Nätschen hiking trail leads along a narrow path with a moderate to fairly steep ascent along lush meadows and fields. The higher you go, the better the view of the mountains of the Gotthard region and the Ursern valley. You have to climb about 350 metres to reach the "sunny side of Andermatt". Once you reach the Nätschen, the restaurants with views of the high alpine region all the way to the Furka Pass invite you to catch some sun. Deep down, Andermatt nestles against the mountain. Also impressive: the loops of the Matterhorn-Gotthard railway that accompany you on the entire tour.

The Nätschen is a small terrace (1850 m a.s.l.); to the north, the slope rises up to the ridge of the Schijenstock. Above the Nätschen is the wind farm on the Gütsch.

  • If you feel like it, continue on the right side of the railway tracks to the Oberalp Pass or turn off on the Gütschstrasse a little above Nätschen onto the Kirchberg hiking trail.
