This historic ski tour between Andermatt and Engelberg takes in a starkly beautiful winter landscape. A spirit of adventure prevails as you make your way from hut to hut, form peak to peak, from the Gemsstock to the Lochberg, Sustenhorn (3503m), Uratstock and Grassen (2946m) mountains, and then a wonderful descent into Engelberg. This magnificent route through the central Swiss Alps was counts as one of the world's great mountain traversals. Rising to 5,500 metres, the route takes four to five days.
The route is not marked and a mountain guide is strongly recommended.
