Cross Country Skiing is the latest trend at present. What better way to train the whole body than out in the sun and fresh air? The Cross Country tracks are prepared daily to the highest level. Along with the Cross Country tracks in Andermatt winter athletes can reach other tracks in Sedrun and the Obergoms by train within a short time.

Please note: it is obligatory to have a Nordic Pass when using the tracks in the Ursern Valley. The pass should be carried at all times whilst using the tracks and must be presented on request.
Gloria and her friends Selma and Sämi are totally crazy about the cold season of the year. Hibernation is therefore not an alternative for them. They much prefer to spend all their free time out on the Cross Country tracks in the Ursern Valley and in the meantime consider themselves professionals.
With the help of five simple exercise charts the animal trio show cross country skiers how to improve their technique and at the same time to enjoy themselves.
The theme trail "On Gloria's Tracks" can be found on the two kilometre cross country section "Meer" and is suitable for all big and small skiers. The start is marked by a large notice board and can be found alongside The Nordic House in Andermatt.
The Cross Country tracks run along the valley floor via Hospental to Realp. They are prepared for both classic and skating techniques. Those who do not wish to ski the complete distance can restrict themselves to the shorter circular tracks around Andermatt or Realp.
Changing facilities, restrooms, and showers can be found at the Restaurant Zum Dörfli in Zumdorf and at the Biathlon Centre in Realp. Further changing rooms, free-of-charge restrooms and showers can be found at The Nordic House. Here parking facilities are fee-based.
Cross Country skiers can also use some tracks at night under a star filled sky. The illuminated two kilometre circular track at Realp is open seven days a week from 6 – 9pm.
Good snow conditions prevailing, the Cross Country season in Urserntal starts at the beginning of December. The 28kms tracks between Andermatt and Realp are groomed daily. During adverse weather conditions or high winds the small circular track in Andermatt is conditionally groomed twice daily.
