Cross-Country Skiing is the latest trend at present. What better way to train the whole body than out in the sun and fresh air? The Cross-Country tracks run along the valley floor from Andermatt via Hospental to Realp. They are prepared for both classic and skating techniques. Those who do not wish to ski the complete distance can restrict themselves to the shorter circular tracks around Andermatt or Realp.
Good snow conditions prevailing, the Cross-Country season in Urserntal starts at the beginning of December. The 28 kms tracks between Andermatt and Realp are groomed daily.
All cross-country tracks are accessible until 5 pm every day during the winter season and are groomed afterwards.
In Realp, cross-country skiers can also glide along at night under the stars. The 2 km long night track is illuminated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 6 to 9 pm.
Our attractive cross-country skiing offers cover every need.
Cross-Country Ski Passes can be purchased:
Please note: It is obligatory to have a cross-country ski pass when using the tracks in the Ursern Valley. The pass should be carried at all times whilst using the tracks and must be presented on request.

In collaboration with the Swiss Heart Foundation and Loipen Schweiz, the Andermatt Holiday Region runs a flat, circular trail about 2 km long. The Heart Trail is ideal for beginners and for all those who want to do something for their fitness in the fresh air, even in winter.
The start is directly across from The Nordic House. An information board on site informs about health factors for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The heart trail - classic and skating - is integrated into the normal trail and specially signposted. Complete cross country equipment can be rented and/or lessons booked on site.
Playful and family-friendly cross-country skiing: At the Cross-Country Skills Park, children, young people and adults are encouraged to learn the professional basis for events and competitions in cross-country skiing through an attractive offer. The Skills Park is located about 300 metres from The Nordic House.
Gloria and her friends Selma and Sämi are totally crazy about the cold season of the year. Hibernation is therefore not an alternative for them. They much prefer to spend all their free time out on the cross-country tracks in the Ursern Valley and in the meantime consider themselves professionals.
With the help of five simple exercise charts the animal trio show cross-country skiers how to improve their technique and at the same time to enjoy themselves.
The theme trail «On Gloria’s Tracks» can be found on the two kilometre cross country section «Meer» and is suitable for all big and small skiers. The start is marked by a large notice board and can be found alongside The Nordic House in Andermatt.
