Town

The well preserved village centre is of national importance. Along the main street one finds an entire row of stately houses with choice Rococo interiors. Characteristic of the building style is the timber construction on a stone fundation. Open arches and free standing stone stairways emphasise the character of the village. The cobbled main street,inlayed with granite flagstones bears witness to the era of the Gotthard postcoach.
