Our tips:
- Aare Gorge – over thousands of years the waters of the young Aare gradually eroded a passage into the rock between Innertkirchen and Meiringen, forming the present gorge with its niches, grottoes and hollows. Today you can traverse this 200 metre deep gorge safely and comfortably on a 1,400-metre footpath.
- Furka steam train – the nostalgic railway experience by the Rhone glacier. Marvel at our forefathers’ pioneering achievements in railway technology surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery. This two-hour trip in carefully restored oldtimer trains takes you from Gletsch to Realp or the other way around.
- La Claustra, a former fortress deep in the mountain, and the national St. Gotthard Museum at the Gotthard Pass summit.
