Devil’s Bridge
The building of the Devil’s Bridge in the Schöllenen made the commercial traffic over the Gotthard possible. The bridge got its name from the legend, which says, that no one was able to build a bridge over the dangerous ravine, so they called out the devils name. They had hardly said the word when the devil appeared in front of them and offered to build the bridge himself.
The legend of the Devils Bridge.
Suworow monument
The Suworow monument was built in 1898 in honour of the Russion General Suworow and his soldiers, who passed Andermatt in a battle in September 1799 during the French Revolution.
